Celebrating 250 Years of African American Stories
Our goal is simple yet impactful: As a National Media & Marketing Initiative we are here to commemorate the United States' Semiquincentennial (250th anniversary) by offering a digital platform that showcases African American heritage and culture and contributions to the development of this nation in ways that educate, inspire and connect people.
By leveraging our digital platform to promoting travel to destinations throughout the country and its territories we aim to inspire and celebrate well beyond 2026. This initiative will serve as a clearinghouse of African American cultural venues, offering ongoing opportunities for education, tourism, and business development for America’s 250th year and beyond .

WHAT IS A BLack America 250 PARTNERSHIP?
Join us in celebrating African American heritage as part of Black America 250 (BA 250), a national media and marketing initiative under the official USA America 250 commemoration.
As the U.S. approaches its Semiquincentennial on July 4, 2026, we invite you to be part of a movement that highlights the legacy of Black contributions that have shaped this nation.
Black America 250 will run throughout 2025 and beyond, creating a digital hub for community engagement and economic growth by promoting travel to local events, cultural landmarks, and attractions. This journey for us is not just about preserving history; it's about generating revenue, supporting Black-owned businesses, and sustaining cultural tourism.
To make this vision a reality, we are seeking partners—corporate sponsors, destinations, and organizations—to collaborate with us in showcasing unique cultural attractions that will drive long-term visitation and engagement. “After years of hearing about the National Museum of African American History and Culture, I finally had the chance to visit in 2024. I went in with high expectations, but nothing could have truly prepared me for the experience. It was more than just a visit—it was absolutely riveting. The museum reached beyond mere exhibits, touching every sense and stirring deep emotions.”

“This was truly one of the most creatively recharging festivals I've had the pleasure of attending. It was such a pleasure to meet and connect with the other filmmakers and filmgoers, and the festival staff and volunteers ran the week of events so smoothly..”

“Every summer, making the journey from North Carolina to New Orleans for Essence Fest feels like a reunion—almost like a big homecoming, but with the warm energy of summer and being surrounded by your favorite aunties. There's just something magical about it. Every year, it’s a celebration of Black culture where women of all ages come together, let their hair down, and are completely dedicated to having a good time. From scrambling to catch last minute performances to finding myself at parties hosted by some of our favorite brands, the memories we create are priceless, and I can't wait to do it all over again each year. If I can help it, I’ll never miss Essence Fest— always delivers, every single time.”
